DelikateRayne is coming up...
These girls are talented, fashionable and know their style. I am working with them and Cybil Weigel on a project at Otis College where I attend, and it's amazing. Follow them and wear their clothes. When they become available I know I will.

Busy with information_creative community.
I found this website today...researched all it's components and realized it's a pretty awesome site that offers inforamtion about creatives and for creatives to get together and be seen. It has groups with different interests that cover an extremely broad spectrum of art related endeavors. This community site resembles in some aspects what I'll be creating for my senior project at Otis College of Art and Design. Looking at SprayGraphics.com reminds me that the design world is complex with lots of avenues. Creativity comes in all sorts of forms, and capturing all of it, is not an easy task. This site is not working for me in terms of how the information is organized. There's so much to look at I get lost. For other creatives though, this may be a fun and interesting aspect to the site. It's not predictable which in essence means you won't get bored while there. I like how you can either read artist interviews or see what projects have been voted the best for that day. For my senior project I will be creating a website that engages with the art communities in Los Angeles. Next week I will be presenting my idea for this class, and then will post it here.

Hammer Museum Exhibition
you can go to the Hammer Museum site and see a preview of what the
The Book of Genesis Illustrated by R. Crumb.
I went and saw this exhibit today and loved it.
The illustrations are full of detail and tell the story of Genesis according to the words that accompany the illustrations. I was inspired so I had to check out what the Hammer Museum website shares about this exhibit.
The picture above is taken from the Hammer Museum website.Check it out.

I love the way Cannon is promoting the IXUS 100IS
Here are some screen-shots from the short videos that are on the Cannon site, that features two girls and two guys using the Cannon IXUS 100IS camera around London. The narration is in French, but it stylizes it. I'd rather watch this in French than in English. I think this is a really current, fun and versatile way to showing what this camera can do. I think that the benefit of the camera is well highlighted in the corner of the screen when it lists the features. These short videos are well done and now I want to go to London and use this camera. Check it out!

BEARD BLOG
THIS BLOG IS FUNNY AND FOR MANY REASONS I LIKE IT. HOWEVER THE IMAGE THAT STICKS OUT TO ME, THE IMAGE WHICH HAS REPURPOSED THE 1965 BOB DYLAN POSTER.
EXIBIT BELOW on rt: beard, on left original:
I wonder how many times this image has been re-purposed. I've started searching the internet. Ironically
I thought there would be more knockoffs of the original DYLAN poster. But for now, this is the only one I see. Not cot featured the beard blog today. You can link to the beard blog here.

Movement is one way to categorize information.
This site is portfolio site for karlssonwilker inc., and the homepage is dynamic and it's content is constantly moving. There are four different frames above taken by screen grabbing different moments on the home page. Each frame sows that the movement is happening in certain areas. This site has inspired me to re-think how my homepage for my newest type-only site is going to look. There is something intriguing to me about the idea of moving type across a home page. And not just one type of moving type but lots of different type categories moving. Maybe a different speeds, and in different directions according to the content. I'll be publishing my newest explorations for my new website concept here.

DIY a great source for my new web concept.
This is a great homepage and interesting website. For my newest project in Digital Innovation I'm building a concept for a website that uses only words and no pictures. The website is based around the idea the Words can be just as interesting as pictures. I went to DIY and discovered that if I take the pictures out of the way, this could be an interesting way to collage typography for my new website concept. For my site I would want each movable image to be a letter only so you can build words.

Giving out my personal information on the web freely///
How many of these forms have I actually filled out?
Too many to remember. I've tried to keep track of all of them in a personal online planner where I store all of my passwords and user names to websites I've joined. I try to keep the information simple so I don't forget. These forms can get pretty long and I hate that part of it. What you see here, is the first part of what I had to fill out. However, I like that they ask me what information I am most interested in. Does this mean that they will primarily send out this information to me? The site never really specifies why it's important to input that information, oh well, all I care is that the site has topics I'm interested in. This will be a great tool for me to add to my site. Somehow it would be nice to make it a shorter form for the people to fill out, in order to keep track of the people interested in getting updates on my site.

On the search for 'Affordable Web Hosting'
I'm researching and shopping around for affordable web hosting. The prices range from $5/mo.–$45/mo.Since I'm ideally starting my own site to host portfolio work and a blog, $5/mo. sounds like what I'm looking for. The most popular web hosting companies my friends and instructors at Otis use, are Dream Host and Go Daddy. In a book called The Web Designers Idea Book which I bought for my Digital Innovation class, a web hosting company by the name of Hosted FX is mentioned as being the cleanest and simplest web hosting site to navigate around in. After checking it out, I had to agree. I also found that not only is this company simple and to the point, their web hosting pricing is even better than Dream Host and Go Daddy. Go Figure! I think I found which company I'd like to try to host my upcoming website. Though, I'll keep my eyes open until then.

What is going on?
A moment of transition for this site:
Content is about what happens after I see a site that inspires me.
Content is about what happens after I see a site that inspires me.
This one is for Gregg and Apollo who love moving eyebrows.
It is also for me and this site. This man is looking around
and I can see something is happening to him by the way
his eyebrows are moving up and down
and his eyes, side to side.

Grand Marnier Is Creating Digital Ads
Reaching consumers through the web and it's lushness of social networks like Twitter, Facebook, and Myspace; I-phone apps brought to us by Macintosh; game apps; and advertising possibilities, is the new way of advertising. We have all heard print is dying. Even myself a hopeless romantic about keeping print alive, is jumping on board for creating clever ways of sending a message in a new way via the internet. Grand Marnier is dropping $4 million for advertising on the web. In addition to converting their ads to the web, they've transitioned the look of their ads which last had a "contemporary vibe" to an illustrative, bold, modern French esthetic. Oh-la-la. Accompanying this new campaign, A limited edition bottle in the “La Vie Grand Marnier” spirit will also be sold in select stores at the suggested retail price of $64.99. Different packaging referencing its new French aesthetic, but same great recipe. One thing Scott Green vp of marketing and sales for Marnier-Lapostolle group had to say about this was,
"We are absolutely committed to digital”.
And there we have it...another product going digital.

Erickson Stock
In a perfect world, I would have the time to travel to rare and uncharted places. As a full-time design student I definitely don't have time nor the resources. This site may just be useful to me as I am required to have flawless executions on my final advertising concepts. The teachers suggest checking out stock footage sites, Erickson Stock says "Download your next Campaign". It's perfect. I discovered this one while reading GD USA magazine.

When a gallery closes...
When a gallery closes after a successful run of holding art exhibits and social gatherings, it is sad to say goodbye to such memories. It can be exciting as well, to embark on a new journey as a gallery curator. Sixspace was open in Los Angeles for six years. When the editor of art.blogging.La.com, Caryn Coleman let go of her gallery, she posted the news online. Thanks to the internet, it saved sending out millions of postcards and waste.
